Polka Dots, Chucks, and Bakery sadness

Whilst visiting with family in the lovely town of Parker, Colorado, my sister and I decided to escape the drabness of moving my parents into their new house to Fort Collins. A quiet little college town, FoCo, so affectionately nicknamed by the natives, boasts many trivial pleasures. We dined on homemade tortillas and queso that was a bit reminiscent of popcorn (in a not so endearing way), then hit up a local Coffee shop for Italian Cream sodas. After our bellies were almost satisfied, we were disappointed to find The Worlds' Smallest Bakery (la Creperie & Bakery) to be closed on Mondays. We were denied sweet cravings such as Macarons and Crepes. In the midst of our sadness, we found a high class bakery that offered a small variety of cupcakes, and decided to settle. Blueberry lemon for me and Red Velvet for Madi. Worth $6.25? Maybe. I'm still mad about the bakery. At least I looked cute though! See the story in an Instagram adventure below.

Cafe MexiCali, Fort Collins, CO. Foodgasm, Popcorn queso (they didn't plan it that way, it just tasted like it)

Peach Italian Cream Soda, Average Joes, Fort Collins, CO

Buttercream Bakery, Fort Collins, Co

We stopped off at the CSU Oval (Where Madi goes to school) for lounging and silly pictures.

A lovely way to end the day.

That one time when I agreed to be a Model..

by Miss Style on Friday, April 6, 2012

So I got a text from my friend (who I hadn't heard from in FOREVER) the other day. "Molly, what are you doing tomorrow?!" Ummm I don't have plans but I'm pretty sure my schedule revolves around the new Toddlers and Tiaras I have recorded in my DVR. Instead I said: "Nothing! What's up" The truth was too sad. "You're going to be my model tomorrow"

Oh. Okay. Funny joke. Except it wasn't a joke... I
ended up being a stylist/assistant/model/hair stylist from 630-Midnight, and I enjoyed EVERY minute of it. There wasn't really a theme-- the stylist, Calli, basically took over and made everything as fierce as could be. The photographer, Jelisa, being a badass that she was, snook us all up to the rooftop of a parking garage to shoot. We almost got caught twice, but we looked too professional to scold, so the security officers went their way. It turned out breathtakingly amazing. Here are a few photos behind the scenes of the shoot!

I mean, I won't pretend to be this world class model, but it was SO much fun playing dress up and making funny faces whilst wearing John Lennon specs. I can't wait to see the actual photos! It's for a University magazine called "Method 7 Magazine", here is where you can like them on facebook and patiently await the first issue, which I'll hopefully be in!

Coachella Style

by Miss Style

So, Coachella music festival in California is coming up, and although we can't ALL go out in our printed jumpsuits (Ahem Dita Von Teese) and see lots of good music amongst a sea of celebatrons, we CAN pretend. I mean, it's called itunes and supplement speakers, folks. For those of us that can actually make it to this year's music fest, here are some inspired looks for you to try.

Pack your backpack and get ready to not shower for a few days, Coachella here we come! Yellow top by Jason Wu and Pink top by Electric Frenchie. See remaining items on my Polyvore. These outfits are easy, breezy, beautiful and super stylish to impress all of those glamourous celebs!
Or maybe you're more like me and you'd rather have on an easy but super cute dress to dance around in. Both dresses are from Electric Frenchie. Click the link to my polyvore above to see complete item descriptions.  It doesn't matter what you choose to wear, just promise me if you see Ryan Gosling tell him his soul mate exists and her name is Molly. Ahem.

Product Review: Wet N Wild Blue Mega Liner

by Miss Style on Sunday, March 18, 2012

So let me preface this by saying I went to the Sushi Cafe the other day with my sissy bear, who was in town for the week. We went to this hole in the wall sushi place (it's my fave in the world and I needed her to experience it) and of course, everything was particularly amazing. My drink of choice, a Mai Tai (I'm a girl okay?) was the best I ever had. Not quoting Drake. Just saying. Our waitress, who was in short, a bitch  in all senses of the word, had on blue liquid eyeliner. Now, she wasn't wearing punky clothes or anything out of the ordinary to suggest that she was the type of person to wear that kind of thing, but she worked it. I complimented her, saying I don't think I could ever pull that off, and she waved it off. It got me to thinking though...could I pull off BLUE EYELINER? The answer is YES

Now I didn't go as drastic as she did, but I'm hoping to go a little bit more out of my comfort zone and try it thicker ASAP. It's just too fun not to! And I've found that it compliments brown eyes! What kind of liquid eyeliner did I use, you ask? I surprisingly found that Wet n Wild's 2.99 Mega Liner did the job just perfectly! I'm enamored with it so much that I'm considering branching out into other colors! The liner was so easy to apply and the brush was thin enough to make a perfect cat eye!

I HIGHLY recommend this product! Go out and get you some!

Coral me!

by Miss Style on Thursday, March 15, 2012

I went out to brunch with my grandma for her birthday the other day, and I decided to look particularly cute. My sister and I had spent the day shopping on Monday, and it's fair to say I'm now broke but overwhelmed with new, springy clothes! Including a pair of TO DIE FOR cobalt blue knee length slacks. I'll be sure to wear a cute outfit with it soon so my loves can see them.
Back to the outfit at hand, though, I bought a bright little tank top on sale at Old navy, and a printed maxi skirt ALSO on sale! Both super cute and you know how I looooove my sales!

Scarlett, of course, makes a guest appearance. Isn't she just the cutest in the entire world? She wanted to try on my sunglasses, how could I say no?

Top: Old Navy
Necklace: Forever 21
Skirt: Old Navy
Sandals: Target (RIP, my other demon dog, Sadie, chewed them up :( )
Sunnies: Forever 21

Rainy days can be cute, too!

by Miss Style on Thursday, March 8, 2012

Today was so stupid. I got up, and it was muggy out so I didn't wear a coat. I heeded the warnings for colder weather to come, but I did not prepare for it. I threw caution to the wind, quite literally. And I suffered the consequences while waiting for the bus later in the day when the cold front came in...but at least I looked cute while I shivered my little booty off!

Top: Old Navy
Skirt: Goodwill via my Sister
Tights: JC Penney
Boots: Walmart (!!)
Scarf: A gift from a lil ol irish friend of mine

Oh, and I was really proud of my cat eye today. Lighting is terrible but deal with it.

That's all, Folks!

Perfect girl in Perfect outfit

by Miss Style

Emily Blunt at the premiere of her new movie with Ewan McGregor, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.

Can there be a more perfect pairing in a movie role (except for maybe her and Jason Segel in the new movie, the 5 Year Engagement)? Let me just say these two look adorable together, and if she wasn't already 1 half of the most beautiful couple in the world (John Krasinski is the other half) I would say someone needs to date Ewan hard...I'll pick up the slack girl. Call me, Ewan.

The limit does not exist for how gorgeous and put together this girl has been looking lately...

You know I gotta provide a Mean Girls reference.

Here dis bitch is rocking some Naaem Kahn (Dress) and Gianvito Rossi strappy heels. I DIE (not literally, Rachel Zoe, calm down.)

Oh Emily. If you and John ever want to have brunch or, like, a go cart session...I'll clear my already not busy schedule. I just feel like you both would be down with that.
